More beer please

We were approached by our long-standing client, Asahi Europe, earlier this year to help them with the digital execution of their acquisition of Fuller's breweries.

As part of this acquisition, Asahi Europe have acquired the Fuller's beers, cider, soft drinks brewing and production including London Pride and the distribution of their other brands Cornish Orchards, Dark Star Brewing and Nectar Imports.

Our brief was to recreate the Fuller's brewery site but also add a touch of Asahi look and feel. We reviewed the sites UX and aimed to improve navigation and presentation throughout the site ensuring everything was fully optimised for all devices. The big task was rebuilding all the individual beer pages, luckily we're big fans of beer at CAKE so discovering the full extent of Fuller's beers made for thirsty work.

 A big thing for Fuller's is how well their beers can be paired with food, so on every beer page, you'll find suggestions for the type of food to enjoy alongside their beers as well as suggestions for other beers you might enjoy or something totally different!

 Knowing how important page speed is for the performance of any site, we worked hard to bring down the page load times as much as possible. We managed to achieve a Lighthouse performance score of 98 only being held back by a third party widget.
